The actual anniversary date for Gordon and Nora Ellis was May 30, but June 4 was the day that their children and grandchildren threw a big party for them, beginning with the renewal of vows officiated by Blenis Wright from the 1961 version.

The pix are hosted here at my own church picture blog, but I thought I'd list the official website for more info.

This vid reflects discussions we were having over clarifying the intent of our full name (Northwood Park Church of Christ).

We were thinking through various issues, including how the "Church of Christ" part gets misunderstood by some people as Mormon, and also how some uses of it (esp. "The Church of Christ" without a neighbourhood reference) can sound arrogant and exclusivist, thereby MISrepresenting our beliefs about other congregations of Christ's Church in Thunder Bay.

We were learning about sharing and so I let K have his own Lego base and bricks in order to build a house. However, his better idea of sharing was to help me build my house, which became a jail for his Lego man.

I was the Traveller. Kristian was the robber and dutifully punched me lightly a couple of times. Katie and Bishop were the priest and Levite. Ally was the Bad Samaritan, who walked by (despite being originally cast as the Good Samaritan). So my Mum had to fill in as the Good Samaritan.

Ally and Katie are pouting because they were told to smile.

It was sprinkling when we arrived, and so we ate inside the Chalet. The weather cleared enough afterwards to allow for some frisbee tossing, playground fun and visiting the farm animals.

He had been sick the week I'd planned to have us build a replica of Solomon's Temple, but the next week the other kids were in rehearsal for the following week's Christmas Play, and since he was going to miss it (due to a trip to Florida. Poor guy), he worked on it this day.
